haiku
As everyone seems to be writing haiku these days, I will add some:
Children back in school,
Smell of late summer roses,
Withering gardens.
Outside the window
Branches bereft of leaves point
To what’s glorious.
I am an athlete
Taking every chance to kick
Acorns and gum balls.
Don't worry, neighbors
No Joneses to keep up with here--
Let the leaves blow!
In the gallery,
a Korean sonata--
familiar and new
The fall colors are
Extraordinary now.
In the morning, look!
English offices—
Persian rugs, old-fashioned lamps
Highly civilized
The second violinist’s
Hair is in her face
She’s mad with music
Hey, you silly moth—
I’ve got the screen door open.
Why don’t you escape?
Children back in school,
